Jenn's Bio

Jennifer Prugh is an author, artist, educator and encouraging guide whose work is dedicated to the pursuit of presence and the cultivation of joy.  She’s the author of two books: A River of Offerings – Twelve Journeys Following the Path of the Ganges River, and Moving Into Meditation; 27 Meditations for Daily Life.

She is the founder of the JOY of Yoga School of Integrative Learning, a school for those seeking the skills to live more fully present lives, as well as a teacher certification program, offering an extensive menu of workshops, 200 and 300-hour yoga training programs, and a 100-hour Meditation and Awareness Program.

Certified as both a Yoga Therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapy and an E-RYT 500, Jennifer founded Breathe Together Yoga, a Bay Area yoga studio and wellness center consistently ranked #1 in all of Silicon Valley and home to a welcoming community for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.

She’s created the Tapas series, a seasonal approach to caring for the body through movement and breath, and teaches yoga as a creative and exploratory form of moving meditation, both in person at the Breathe Together Yoga studio and online through live virtual classes, and via her YouTube channel and Yoga Anytime.

An explorer at heart, Jennifer has traveled extensively and leads international retreats and trainings, with a passion for bringing together people, practices, and places around the world. Inspired by her travels, she has led multiple fundraising campaigns for charitable organizations, raises funds to support Tibetan refugees, and currently serves as President on the board of the Tibetan Children’s Education Foundation.

Formally trained as an artist, with a B.A. and teaching certification in Fine Arts and an M.A. in Art and Consciousness Studies, Jennifer is a photographer, sculptor, collage artist and painter whose work has been shown nationally, and has been published in Yoga Journal and Psychology Today magazine. She has previously taught storytelling, storyboarding, mythology, and creativity as an Associate Professor at Cogswell College. She documents her creative and joyful approach to living fully on Instagram.

At home, you can often find Jennifer tending her Balinese-inspired garden, in conversation with a family of hummingbirds, and surrounded by her two golden retrievers River and Hobbes. She lives with her husband Will and son Liam.
