Kenya
The first time we went to Kenya, we had the honor of spending time with the last two white rhinos on earth and learning about the efforts to keep the species alive.
While we had the fortune of time at four different locations in Kenya, meeting the Samburu tribe in northern Kenya had a lasting impact. That part of Kenya was experiencing severe drought. While children were raising large herds of goats beginning at the age of four, women spend most hours of their days collecting water from wells as far as seven miles away.
Upon returning home, we raised funds to build a well and partnered with the Samburu Project. Proceeds from Kenya photographs go support their work. To learn more about how they transform women’s lives through providing water and menstrual education, go to thesamburuproject.org.
