We stayed at Je Cousteau’s eco resort. Island countries know the value of their mangrove forests as the means to prevent erosion and flooding. We planted mangroves and learned how long it takes for mangroves to grow; how fragile a mangrove forest truly is. We could step in the water, look down and see practically all the colorful fish you’d see snorkeling or diving.

The Fijian’s we met were Christian. They sang in choirs as early as three or four years old. The Fijians we spoke with praised the British coming to Fiji and thus, introducing them to Christ. Until the British arrived, Fijians engaged in cannibalism.
