Jennifer Prugh is an author, artist, educator, explorer, and founder whose life’s work is devoted to one enduring question: How do we live fully?
For more than three decades, she has studied the practices that help human beings flourish. Drawing from contemplative traditions, creativity, neuroscience, and lived experience, Jennifer translates timeless wisdom into practical tools for everyday life, helping thousands of people cultivate greater clarity, courage, joy, and resilience.
She is the founder of Breathe Together Yoga (est. 2011), one of Northern California’s leading yoga and well-being communities, and the JOY School of Integrative Learning (2007), where students from around the world explore yoga, meditation, embodiment, and what Jennifer calls “life education”—the understanding that education should prepare us not only for careers, but for life itself.
A Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), Senior Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500), former associate professor, entrepreneur, and lifelong student, Jennifer is known for weaving together ancient contemplative traditions with contemporary science, making profound ideas approachable, experiential, and relevant to modern life. Whether mentoring teachers, leading retreats, speaking, or teaching in the studio, she creates spaces where curiosity becomes practice and practice becomes a way of living.
Jennifer is the author of River of Offerings: Twelve Journeys Following the Path of the Ganges River and Moving Into Meditation: 27 Meditations for Daily Life. Her writing and teaching are informed as much by the road as the meditation cushion—through travel, photography, painting, gardening, long-distance cycling, and an ongoing fascination with the natural world. She believes wisdom is found not apart from ordinary life, but within it.
Jennifer holds a Master’s degree in Art and Consciousness Studies and serves as President of the Tibetan Children’s Education Foundation. In 2026, she was recognized as one of Polo Lifestyles Magazine‘s Women & Power honorees.
She lives in Northern California with her husband, Will. When she’s not teaching, writing, or creating, you’ll likely find her tending the garden, photographing changing light, exploring back roads by bicycle, or sharing time with three beloved golden retrievers—River, Jewel, and Charlie.
